Honda Siel's Rajasthan unit to be functional by 2010 |

The second car making plant of Honda Siel Cars India Ltd (HSCIL) anticipated in Rajasthan is expected to be operational by 2010. The Rajasthan facility may be committed to bring out small cars.
Masahiro Takedagawa, the President and CEO of HSCIL stated that the small car from HSCIL stable will be priced above Maruti's `Swift', as the Indian clients do not anticipate cheap products from HSCIL.
Mr. Takedagawa was here to launch the rehabilitated ‘Sundaram-Honda’ showroom-cum- overhauling centre of T V Sundram Iyengar and Sons Ltd.
The company will be investing around Rs 2,000 crore into its Rajasthan project.
At present, it is discovering appropriate land and site for the plant. The new plant will have a primary ability to manufacture 50,000 units.
Takedagawa said the production capacity enhancement in Noida unit would be done by November this year. Currently the unit manufactures Honda City, City ZX, Accord and Honda Civic.
Besides this, the company sells its imported sports utility vehicle model Honda CRV that clocked a 40 per cent growth in its passenger car sale between April 2006 and February 2007 at 60,000 cars, expects to achieve a sales growth of 15 per cent in 2007-08. |
