As equities, chasing forceless worldwide markets, broke down on the chief Indian securities market this morning, the benchmark indicants Sensex and the Nifty dipped to 13,030.87 and 3811.25, dropping off more than 150 points and 50 points correspondingly.
On the other hand, due to some blue chip stocks that carry off to get support at inferior levels, the exponents have recovered some lost ground in succeeding trade. While the Sensex remained weak with a loss of 104.77 points at 13,078.47, and the Nifty has put up a loss of 0.85%.
Banking sector giants ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, and SBI have vanished 2.05%, 1.55% and 1.05% respectively.
On the other hand, automobile majors Maruti and Hero Honda, FMCG heavyweight ITC, oil & gas major ONGC and IT major Wipro fell back 1% - 1.5%.
The stocks that posted sharp losses are Satyam Computers, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Lever, Cipla, Gujarat Ambuja Cements, Bharti Airtel, ACC, BHEL, HDFC, Reliance Communications and Grasim Industries.
With the quite negative mood, only four stocks amongst the Sensex constituents are playing in the positive zone. The stocks include Tata Steel, Reliance Energy, Bajaj Auto and Infosys Technologies. |
